Kisliuk Adsorption Model

Precursor Assisted Adsorption

Rule One
Kisliuk

Rule Two
Kisliuk

Due to the presence of extrinsic and/or intrinsic precursor states, the adsorption probability can become independent of the surface coverage. Particles trapped above occupied surface sites (extrinsic precursor state) or above bare surface sites (intrinsic precursor state) can migrate along the surface thereby finding empty sites irrespective of the vacancy of the initial point of impact.
